There has been a lot of discussion going around lately about body positivity in fashion. As a model, I have had the pleasure of working over the past 10 years and see attitudes to different shapes and sizes change tremendously. I have to say that I LOVE it. The inclusion of different body types is a must, as we know not everyone looks the same, and we have to celebrate beauty in all its forms!
But just how do we celebrate everyone’s individual beauty? Well, that’s up to you! Now, for me, there are definite ways to feel cool and sexy. A nice suit, a cool pair of sunglasses or even showing a bit of skin. No matter how blindingly white it may be! Haha.
One of my favourite fabrics is the fishnet. There is something so cool and risqué about it. It always reminds me of Berlin in the 20’s when anything and everything went. Wearing something like a fishnet top (which has featured on this site before) with tight blue jeans (from Pull and Bear) was a no brainer. It’s easy and bam, you got yourself a winner. I wanted to add something else to the look. That’s why I went for pink. Wearing bright pink Nike Airmax and pink banded DKNY underwear – I feel like this was the icing on the cake. Because who ever said boys can’t wear pink, obviously has no idea what they are talking about.
Heading to the south bank to bask in the eternal baking summer that London (and the rest of the world) is having at the moment, I wanted to take in my surroundings and make a statement. Wear what you want and celebrate your body. There’s no time like the present to treat yourself to a little love and care. Go on, get on out there and show everyone what you’re working with.
